When DYED EMOTIONS embarked on their 1998 tour in support of their new release "Aqua Pura", they did so without the CDs. Some problems with the manufacturing plant in the US being prioritized for 'major' releases led to the album being sent to a printer in canada, who refused to print the CD because it said "Printed in U.S.A." in small print on the back panel. In an attempt to have some sort of product for fans in the remote outposts of Montana and Idaho, a short-run of the album was printed, along with information for buyers to get a good discount off the actual CD.
This is the pre-release version of AQUA PURA. |

CD
is a portfolio disc for Audio Engineer, Heather Pingree. Poe did
the voice over track(s), and contributed solo track "Hillary",
which was recorded at the Art Institute Of Seattle in 2001. Poe
also designed the album artwork, merging an angel statue (photographed
in a cemetery in Rhode Island, and included in a different position
on some of his demo cassettes in the late 90's) with the desert
south of his hometown as the background. |

It took awhile to release ART OF REGRET. The band had been involved in various projects & distractions, vanished from the seattle scene for a few years ...
But when Raven and Poe began the final mixes in late 2006, A short-run Demo CD of ART OF REGRET was produced, this time with disc art by Michael Raven. The CD was autographed & distributed to a handful of fans and critics. Some of the titles vary slightly from the song titles on the actual release, but the format is about the same. |

Though recorded in a few months in 2000-2001, Only parts of DYED EMOTIONS' "ART OF REGRET" had been available until it's full release in 2007.
A newer version of LOST LIKE YOU and a remixed & mastered version of FREQUENCY are accompanied by reworked versions of TRUE, RADIO STATIC, YOUR WILL, and HOME, as well as mastered versions of the other tracks.
Still synth-heavy with a mix of Seattle guitar, the sound of ART OF REGRET marks a major departure from the lush and almost 'new age' sounds of AQUA PURA. DYED EMOTIONS had a definite vision when writing and recording AOR, and the album captures much of the live energy of the band as well as another step in the evolution of the band's sound.

The
name derived from a wood and a bird who both symbolised "wisdom",
Hazel Crane was a solo project for Poe, utilizing more guitars than
normal, with an ethereal, though melancholy feel. The original limited
cassette release of "Friday the 3rd" had hand drawn &
coloured front sleeves using variations of Poe's "Birds".
Poe played Electric Guitar, Electric Bass, and two Yamaha Portasound keyboards, and a Roland TR-505 on this album. |

"Rotating
Tongues" was a Boise (Idaho)-area compilation of local bands
released sometime around 1993 or 1994. Poe (under a different name)
was vocalist for TekTekTek at that time, and wrote the lyrics for
"Taste" en route to Seattle w/ the band for a Duran Duran/Cranberries
concert. Josh Crookham (Transatlantic Crush, Venus, Brixton 19)
also sang on the track, and Todd Dunnigan (Deep Down Trauma Hounds,
MOD) played additional guitar. |
